* good to be back...

Feeling kind of content right now... not sure why.  Maybe because I'm realizing how lucky I really am.  Despite everything that may have happened - or may happen in life, there's so much to appreciate; family, kids, grandkids, friends, home, cats, good food, good coffee, chocolate, wildlife, trees... life.

Weird, huh?  Perhaps working outside in the herb garden today made me a little 'back to basics'.  I pulled weeds and cleared away the groundcover... preparing the way to start planting.

Later I did 3 miles on the bike and walked another 3 miles. Felt good to do something physical.

Takes your mind off your worries...  not that I have many. But we all have a few.  Best to give them over to God - as the saying goes.  I was reading something last night that struck me as insightful.  It was about the ego vs the higher self.  Mentioned that the ego is relentless in its thinking and its judging.  There is no way to outsmart or outreason the judge.  It's best to just leave it behind... similar to how we leave our thoughts behind in meditation... don't fight it, just sidestep.

makes sense to me.

Have a good one!
Rian
