Saturday, April 13, 2002 * soft Saturday
First, I must apologize for not writing yesterday. I was home, in and out most of the day, but home. Kept thinking that I would journal after supper - after supper and after 'Providence', the only show on TV on Friday evening that I care to watch.
But I should have known better, almost every Friday night after supper and not too far into Providence, I fall asleep on the sofa.... wake up to find that everyone's gone to bed and left me with generally 3 cats sleeping somewhere around or on my person. So it happened last night.
Oh well, probably didn't have anything important to say anyway...
Now it's Saturday and we've finished running our errands. DH is outside trying to find a leak in our fountain. The cats are out there keeping him company except for Thibbadeaux who is here sitting next to me and trying to get me into a game of 'catch the pen' - he finds a pen on my desk and wacks it around until it falls off, expecting me to either catch it in mid flight or pick it up off the floor and replace it on the gamefield (desk). We're easily entertained around here.
The rains came again this afternoon - which made planting in my herb garden impossible. So, we made popcorn, watched a movie, then I headed to the workout center down the block to put in my miles.
While walking my head was looking down and I noticed the Safety Precautions written on the bottom of the treadmill. Since I was taking a break from reading my book, I started reading them. The last one said, "Push Stop Button before picking up anything that has dropped (then it listed: towel, water bottle, radio... to which my mind promptly added: breasts, hips, ... head?) guess you had to be there.
Then I looked up and through the window in the far corner away from me I could see this "giant red chili pepper". It's one of those 20-30 ft blow-up things that restaurants put on top when they're advertising, and apparently it was over the shopping area across the street. Made me think... only in Texas.
Going to close now. Hope you had a safe soft Saturday too. Rian
