Sunday August 4, 2002
not the usual Sunday...

Since we were up early and rushing about, it was definitely not the usual slow easy moving day that most Sundays are.  Mama was going to N.O. to visit family this morning and with all the new security at the airports, it's necessary to get her there early, get a wheelchair, and make sure she has all the necessary 'assistance' on both sides.

The fact that we can no longer go to the Gate with her adds to her anxiety, as well as the thought that they may have to go through her stuff which she has so carefully packed and may never fit in if they unpack it.

But despite all of it,  and saying that 'this will probably be the last time she does this', she's almost always ready to do it again in about 6 months.  And I think it's good for her.  She loves to see everybody and everyone is so happy to have her visit.

I have to say that last week when we brought her to the Emergency Room, I didn't think that she would be making this trip.  But since it wasn't a stroke, and wasn't her heart, and was seemingly only a sudden attack of vertigo, which the doctor said could come again, but hopefully would not - she seems fine.

Don't think she feels as well as she would like, but part of it is anxiety that the doctor says seems to come with age.  She has some meds for it that help.

DH and I spent the remainder of the day running errands, eating crepes, and looking for books at Barnes and Noble.  Now I think it's time to walk out in the yard and see how my garden grows...

Happy Sunday!
