* one of those days...

Ever have one of those days where nothing goes as planned. You probably have.  I guess everyone has.  Well, today was definitely one for me.  It's already after 8 pm and I don't know where the day went.

Actually I do know.  It was just one thing after another.  Started off fairly well.  I awoke to feeling fairly good, fixed myself a cup of tea and a piece of toast and sat out on the back patio in order to watch the early birds feeding at the feeders.

Did all the necessary morning things and was out of the house by 9:30 am for my 10:00 hair cut appointment.  From here it goes a bit astray...

Home by noon, called a friend who hasn't been feeling well and made arrangements to take her to the doctors at 2:00.  Left at 1 so I could run a few things to the Post Office first, picked her up (she is very weak and shakey).

Waited in the waiting room  until about 3:30 when the nurse came out and asked if I would come in the back. My friend was worried as it was getting late and they wanted to run an EKG and some bloodwork, and she knew that I had made arrangements to pick up some furniture at 4:30.

Told her not to worry, that it would work out - and if it didn't, then I'd just make other arrangements.  Well, by the time we ran the tests and got her home (whereI tried to convince her not to go - to go to either my house or the hospital), it was about 4.

Drove home, picked up my neighbor, his flatbed truck, and some blankets, got to the furniture store, packed and loaded the furniture, and we were back home by ... 5:30?  Unloaded the furniture (busted my knee on the flatbed), thanked my neighbor, and collapsed with a cup of tea while DH cut the lawn.

Somewhat refreshed, made dinner (ham steak, fresh corn on cob, salad, and buttermilk biscuits - did consider calling for pizza, but decided against it), answered at least 6 phone calls (daughter called about her furniture, sick friend called about the same, son called about us needing him to unload furniture, another friend called about meeting for coffee tomorrow...etc. - thank god for call waiting - or maybe not???)

Anyway, I'm exhausted and am using my weekend format here because I'm just too tired to create the other one.  Thinking seriously about taking a hot bath, 2 Advil, and crawling into bed.  There's a lot going on in the next week, so there's a good chance that I won't be journaling much.

So don't miss me if I'm gone for a bit.  I WILL  be back eventually.
