* cat magnet?

Finished getting "Allie's Corner" up in my stories section late last night.  Will try to put another of Allie's stories in this afternoon.  May mess around and change the background later as I was getting pretty tired last night.  Had a bit of trouble with cutting and pasteing from Wordperfect to Word and then to the homestead area. Not a lot, but when I went in to clean it up, change some formats, etc. - some just wouldn't change or else it left an open area between paragraphs that wasn't there on the original, but nothing I did would change it.  Oh well, it is up and running.

Wanted to mention something that happened the other day when grand-daughter and I were walking.  A cat followed us home.  Doesn't sound too unbelieveable, but I've had dogs follow me, never cats.   I've seen cats sitting in front of their doorstep, lying in the bushes, stalking around the sides and fronts of houses, but never had one follow us all the way home, squalling the whole way.  I kept stopping and telling him to 'go home now' but to no avail .

When we arrived back at our house and opened the front door, he walked right in,  made his way to the den where my husband was watching TV , jumped on the sofa and laid down.

Conversation went something like this:

Hubby say, "...and what is THIS?"

To which I reply, " ...he followed us all the way almost from the stables, ...I TOLD him to go home, but he kept crying and following us.  It's getting dark out, what should we do?"

"Certainly looks comfortible, doesn't he?"

By this time he was stretched out on our leather sofa watching TV like it was something he did every day.

"Yeh, he does, doesn't he?   Well, he'd better not get TOO COMFORTIBLE"

After Rose settled herself in our yard "to stay" this past Spring, and we have 3 inside cats, another is a bit much.

Anyway, he did have tags on, so I checked them (Vet tags, no home phone number).  We ended up putting him in the laundry room overnight and calling the Vet, who had the owner call us the next morning.  His name is Biff and he is a very loving DSH Black and White.  (If you saw the Princess Diaries - he looks just like the Princess' cat) Apparently he has his own cat door and since the owners had been out of town a few days, decided to go it on his own.

Needless to say, when I walk these days, I take a different route. He may recognize me and decide it's time for another visit.

Ok, journaling done.  Better work on Stories and Archives.  Have a great TGIF!
