*  back on the road

OK, slept great.  Feel much better.  Ready to continue the saga...

Will regress a bit and show a few pics of the Boston Area.  We flew into Boston on a Thursday night, took a water taxi across the Boston Harbor to eat at a little restaurant in Faneuil Hall called The English Todd Rustic Garden.  Salmon was great... and they had some type of a bread dip made with olive oil, white beans, and herbs.

It was late when we finished - probably after 9pm, so we didn't have time to see much else.  Had to walk back to the wharf and take the water taxi back across to the hotel.  The Boston Skyline was pretty from the water ...

and even from our hotel window...

Friday morning after making coffee in our room and downing scones picked up on our walk back to the wharf the night before, we headed out to see Ol' Ironsides and the Boston Commons.  Walked what they call the Freedom Walk which is a red line painted along the street that runs seemingly forever... or so my feet thought.

Came across an area called the North End that was really great - authentic Italian  - complete with little old time grocery stores, gelato shops, and old Italian gentlemen sitting about drinking expressos.   We ate at Cafe D'Amore and my home-made Minestrone, fresh salad with garlic peppercorn dressing, hot bread, and eggplant parmigiano was very good.  Topped off with an expresso of my own!

a street in Boston

That was about it.  We came home to the hotel, walked a little along the Harbor in the evening, and finally ended the day sitting by the window drinking wine (DH) and Irish Coffee (me)... and planning the drive up the Maine coast for the next morning.

Will continue tomorrow.  Thanks for re-visiting with me.
