Friday, February 8, 2002 * a nothing special day...
Before I actually begin with today's entry I want to mention something that happened last night right before bed.
As I climbed into our high 4-poster (deemed even higher due to the depth of mattresses these days - I do have a step-up DH made for me) carrying with me my book, a small cup of warm milk, and my bed buddy not DH, but the terrycloth kind that you warm in the microwave)-
I said, "Oh, darn (or something like that), I've lost my glasses."
To which DH replied, "Where did you leave them?"
"I haven't a clue... would you look in the bathroom?"
He did and said, "No sign of them..."
Climbing out of bed I decided to go check the den thinking I probably left them on the sofa (have the habit of taking them off and rubbing my eyes without taking any notice).
Halfway to the den, you wouldn't believe... but I noticed them on my nose! First I was irritated at myself, then I was amused. Arriving back in the bedroom, I had to ask...
"Did you not see my glasses on my nose when we were talking?"
Half asleep already, DH says, "huh, on your nose? No, I guess not."
Why do I think this is funny? Because - although it must mean I'm getting old and scatterbrained.. it must also mean that DH is not too far behind - that is to say, perhaps we are shuffling down the road to senility together.
As for today, I took Mama to have a bone density test this morning. We went in early and were done by 9:30AM. Next we ran errands until lunch and then stopped for soup and salad at La Madeleine's where we came across some of Mama's friends from the Senior Center who joined us. Talked for a bit. Told them about the upcoming John Michael Talbot Concert at the Church this weekend. Ran a few more errands and were home by about 2.
The day was really beautiful, sunny, bright, and cool. Walked for about 30 minutes in the afternoon, had a great thin crust vegetarian pizza tonight, and now we're settling in for one of the videos DH brought home.
A nothing special, but nice day.
Oh, and daughter emailed that B who was sick for the first time in her young life is doing much better today...
