* Sunday morning coming down...

Had to change the picture this morning for some reason.  Just occasionally 'feel' like I need it.  This picture feels more in tune with my mood.  Wouldn't it be wonderful to wake up to this ocean scene each day?...  maybe not necesarily forever, but for a while?

I'm sitting here drinking my coffee and pretending that I'm sitting on the sand looking out over the water and talking to Mary, Ava, Wendy, Doug, Em, John, and all the others that I read and who sometimes drop in and share my journal...

This week has been pretty busy.  B and Baby B came in.  Feels like they 'swooped' in, we had a flurry of activity, and 'swooped' out.  They are off visiting in Colorado this weekend.  But will be back!

Good part is that we also got to see - and I got to hold - Baby J who is now almost 3 weeks old and just so cute...  He seems to be a very content baby and obviously very much loved. If his mama is reading this, I want her to know that I expect to hear updates at appropriate intervals and an occasional visit or lunch to keep in touch.

Now I will mention that I hadn't slept well and had awakened early on Friday morning - so Friday night after all the activity of the airport and company I slept like a log - only to awaken at 6:30am with both B and Baby B in my bed.  Since I had slept so soundly (didn't even know that DH had left for work at 5), it was a surprise to awaken to these 2 - a really nice surprise since in my stupor I had forgotten they were even there!

Yesterday after the airport,  Mama went off to the Senior Center to play Bingo, DH went off to work, and I used the time to run Saturday errands.  However, I did take a few minutes to find Polly (who we now call Pauli - since it's become obvious that he is not a she...) a new friend.  Pauli is a very pale lime green parakeet - almost yellow.  His new friend is a very pale blue with a hint of  pale yellow on top of his beak and on his wings.  I will try to get a picture in a few days.  Right now he is settling in.  Pauli has been very solicitous.

Hmm..mmm, DH must be cooking breakfast as there are some good aromas floating through the air.  Guess I'd better go and check it out. May be nice enough to have breakfast out on the porch...

Have a nice Sunday!

Rock me to Sleep
-Eliz A Allen

Backwards, turn backward O Time in your flight,
Make me a child again just for tonight!

Mother, come back from the echoless shore,
Take me again to your heart as of yore;
Kiss from my forehead the furrows of care,
smooth the few silver threads out of my hair;
Over my slumbers your loving watch keep;
Rock me to sleep, Mother
rock me to sleep!

(long poem - continued tomorrow!)
