Sunday, July 29, 2001 * Themestream friends...
Yesterday I was fooling around cleaning up some of the saved stuff on the computer and I came across some "email addresses" that I had neither names nor notes for. Probably ones that I used the automatic "save this address" when I read the incoming email. But I failed to note who or what the address was for.
So, instead of just deleting them, I sent them each an email explaining the situation and told them that if they didn't know either - to just ignore this email.
Well, it turned out to be another serendipitous event! They were all from Themestream - the deceased writers' site where we had previously enjoyed reading and commenting on each others' work. I was so glad to have found them again. Most now have their own websites or have moved to another ezine (hope that's the right word).
Anyway it made me realize that I needed to get more of my work out there. Maybe this week I'll get at least one more story up either on my website or perhaps at Authors' Den...
I've had a few more people email me recently about the possibility of submiting some of my work to their site - this sure makes one feel good. I know that it's said that all writers write to be read (published or not) - and I'm sure this is true as it's a great feeling to be appreciated/understood. But don't a lot of you out there write first and foremost to set things straight in your own head?
Even the memories and fictitious stories that I write all come from somewhere inside me that once pondered the complexity of a similar situation and writing about it cleared it up or supplied a form of closure.
whatever...
Maybe I'm just weird.
Going to leave with one of the Caddo Lake Cypress Swamp pics from my new entry in the Photo Gallery. This photo speaks to me ... It almost needs a poem** to go with it. Any one want to volunteer one? I promise to post it - unless the content is against the rules...
Hope you had a great weekend!
