* where'd Friday and Saturday go?

Can't believe that I haven't journaled in 2 days... Friday was a bit busy... and Saturday too.

Had coffee at 7am Friday with a  good friend at a local coffee shop, then had another friend drop by at 10am (more coffee), then had promised another we'd go check out a new retail outlet area at 1:00 - and so the day went, ending in DH coming home to no dinner - so we hopped over to a neighborhood Mexican place, then back home to watch Harry Potter on the video (It was just released at the local Blockbusters). Nice day, very full - maybe a bit too full.

Saturday started early as I decided to do the 5K 'Race for the Cure'.  Daughter-in-law went with me.  It was fun - very crowded - they said maybe 10,000 people.  It's kind of awe-inspiring to see that many people interested in doing something good... and I mean, not necesarily people with an invested interest.  Makes you realize just how many people BC has touched (and by saying that I don't mean to deminish any other dis-eases.   It's just seeing these large groups gather to help... touched me.)

Then it was home and time to run the Saturday errands.  DH had done some while I was off running (actually, I walk... never was good running).  Home again, put groceries away, watched an odd sci-fi video, then fell asleep until 5.

Son and DIL came over for supper and released a huge turtle they had rescued into our back yard (while releasing this one, we saw another - about an 8" water turtle swimming in the creek) - also brought me some unidentified caterpillars they found in their yard (think they might be  'wooly bears' - fuzzy and cream colored hair?).  We ordered pizza to add to some pesto pasta I made, and rewatched Harry Potter again.

Didn't sleep well due to fact that daughter emailed that Baby B was sick.  Didn't sound good, so I called.  She is supposedly 'on the mend', but can't help worrying. They have her on a nebulizer (sp?) Will call again this morning.

Realize that this entry is just a recanting of the past 2 days - without anything outstanding - but such is life - the everyday aspects of it.  Will work in the yard some this morning.  Try to clear a path through the Cypress plants.  Maybe I'll get a good pic to post before the day's over.

Oh, this is exciting news!  The Carolina Wrens that have been buiding a nest in my periwinkle hanging basket, now have 3 little brown speckled eggs in it.  I took it down to water the plant and saw them.

Put it back (although I would have loved to have taken a picture) immediately and am presently avoiding going out that way, so that the wrens can return and sit on their eggs.  I hope I haven't discouraged them, but I don't think so.  They are very persistant little critters and when I watered the plant a few days ago, the eggs weren't there.  So they must be returning.  I will watch out for them now and be more careful.

Have a good Sunday!
