Sunday, June 16, 2002 * Father's Day (1st for Son-in-law)
Slept until 8am when daughter called to say "Happy Father's Day!" to her dad. Needed to get up anyway and cook pancakes as promised. Made pancakes with fresh blueberries, raspberries and warm maple syrup...
As DH talked to daughter, Baby B was apparently having a fit. DH handed me the phone saying, "listen to your sweet grandbaby". Daughter just laughed, saying her sweet baby is fast becoming the demon child.
Told her that Baby B was just getting to that age where she knows what she wants... and is letting them know the only way she can. I warned her that when she was that age, she had quite a temper...
Later that day we went to see the movie, "Ya Ya Sisterhood". It was pretty good. Supposedly set in Louisiana - didn't see it in the credits though. Made some good points... about women in general and female relationships. Enjoyable.
Then youngest son and daughter-in-law came by for dinner and to celebrate Father's Day. They brought one of those giant "Chocolate Chip Cookie Cakes" which we ate after dinner with coffee ice-cream..
Oldest son called in the evening to talk football/soccer, etc. with his dad and to let us know that his youngest had strep throat.
Other Updates:
2 white moths which look like the specific Tiger Moths that come from the yellow bear caterpillars emerged from their cocoons this weekend. They have a few black spots on their wings - very slight spots.
Think the baby wrens should be hatching very soon. Seems to be some activity going on in nest/plant area as the plant seems to be vibrating more. Outside cats have noticed too. But I haven't as yet heard any baby peeps...
Pete and Polly (budgies) have become fast friends - fast. They now stay cuddled together most of the day... nibbling and preening each other's feathers. I'm so happy for Petey.
Enough for Sunday. I'm behind getting this whole weekend posted.
