* these boots were made for walking...

Actually, these tennis shoes were made for walking... and I do like to walk.  Would prefer to walk on some country lane or around a lake or perhaps even on a rocky coastline or sandy beach... but we can't always have what we'd prefer, can we now?  So consequently I usually walk on a treadmill at a local health center.  Walk and read... and think... for 40 minutes - daily.

I rather like it, which according to the consensus of opinion that I hear from others, is weird.  But it makes me feel more relaxed and invigorated.  Not to say that I always feel like doing it.  Sometimes I'm tired and would rather stay home and take a nap - but unless there's a good reason to do that, I usually walk (the discipline is good for me).

If the weather is good (which it really hasn't been), I walk around the neighborhood.  But the truth is, the treadmill is better because I tend to walk at various speeds and inclines (to prevent boredom) whereas when I walk the neighborhood, I tend to meander and look around and basically enjoy myself too much.

Perhaps there's a time and a place for both.

Today I noticed that I can walk at a pretty brisk pace now without my heart rate going way up.  This is probably a good thing.

Realized today also that Easter is just around the corner, so it would probably be good to dig out the Easter decorations!  We have ceramic bunnies and an Easter Tree and Colored Eggs, etc.  But sometimes I forget to put them out since the kids are grown and gone...

But I think I'll do it anyway right now - before I forget again.  The cats will probably enjoy knocking the tiny egg ornaments about on the Easter Tree!  Might even make for some good photo opportunities.

Have a good one!
