* meant to be?

Isn't it strange how the world works?  It never ceases to amaze me when serendipitous things happen.  Coincidence? Maybe, but I chose not to think so.  I won't go so far as to say there are no accidents - as I do believe there are - but...

it's like certain things happen and they're like a 'crossroads' - a place where you have to choose where to go from here - and THAT is where your life changes.  It can me momumental like a death or an illness or as insignificant as coming across an old friend while shopping, taking a class, or receiving a letter.

I mentioned somewhere a while back...February 15th entry to be exact... about an old friend's letters.  We have continued to write and have spoken a little on the phone recently and I've come to the suspicion that we were meant to find each other again.  There are things that we are both experiencing in our lives that warrant sharing...

I think that sometimes people or events are set down in your path in life because there is something you (or they) can learn from that person or event...

* cat upchuckings....

For those of you who have cats you know the sound of a cat upchucking... usually hairballs, sometimes grass, and occasionally food.

This is the sound that wakes you in the middle of the night if it's close at hand - where you jump out of bed in a flash, grab the cat, and fly with it off your bed and to safer ground.

Well, we have had an epidemic of this lately.  With 3 -4 cats in the house, unless they are caught in the act, there's no way to identify the culpit.  Last night I caught Teela (picture), the oldest, in the act. I locked her up in a room where I can keep her under observation and see what the problem is.  They are hardly ever sick, so it's strange that it would be anything outside of hairballs or grass.  But she is about 12... and weighs only 4 lbs. so she can't afford to lose weight (She's about the size of a fat squirrel - but there's not an ounce of fat on her - all hair). Guess If she's not a lot better by tomorrow, we'll have to make a visit to the Vet.

The weather is cool and rainy this morning.  I added a 'weather square' to my homepage so that people can see what it's like here in Dallas at the time they're reading.  Noticed this on some journaler's page who lives further northeast of me and found this interesting.  So, thought I'd do the same.  We do learn from each other.

Anyway, my plants are loving the rain! ... and I'm finding it pretty refreshing myself. One of our box turtles was out and about in it.  He/she showed up on the back patio checking out the dry cat food area this morning.

Going to close for today now.  Just returned from Sunday afternoon dinner at Copelands.  It was really good; pecan encrusted fried catfish,
seasoned grilled veggies, home-made garlic mashed potatoes with the skin, and a hot biscuit (enough for 2 meals, we took home half for supper).  AND... right at the appropriate time a waiter passed by our table with a tray full of what looked like hot fudge sundaes.

We hardly ever get dessert because by the time the meal is done, there's no room. But DH loves ice-cream (which I seldom agree to buy) and I LOVE  hot fudge (which due to my present diet haven't had in some time).  Needless to say, we ordered one to split.  It was SO GOOD! ... A HUGE FROSTED GOBLET COMPLETELY COVERED WITH HOT FUDGE AND THEN FILLED WITH VANILLA BEAN ICE-CREAM AND TOPPED WITH WHIPPED CREAM, TOASTED COCONUT AND TOASTED NUTS!

I'm still floating in chocolate heaven...
