Tuesday, May 7, 2002 * Teela update Teela (our 12 year old cat) was really sick. I took her to the Vet's early Monday morning when her vomiting progressed to bloody diarrhea (sorry, don't know a polite way to say that). Being only a little over 4lbs., she can't afford to get too sick... and never has. She's always been up to date on her vaccinations (including Leukemia) and rarely goes outside... except with me sometimes on Saturday when I'm working in the garden. The Veterinary Hospital ran blood chemistry and stool checks and x-rays. Everything came back normal. So we settled on treating the symptoms with IV fluids and antibiotic injections. And she is a lot better today! No more vomiting or diarrhea, taking her meds, and eating a little boiled shredded chicken. Don't know what she had, but hopefully it's on the mend. She's not out of the woods yet, but seems to be on the right track... And she may be little, but she is feisty! Didn't want them doing anything else to her and was hissing up a storm when I went to pick her up. Rian |
