Thursday, May 31, 2001 * mundane things
Sorry I didn't write yesterday. I had planned to , but still putting the house and yard back together after this past weekend's party at our house. We just gave my son and daughter-in-law a wedding reception. They were married in the RainForest of Costa Rica a few weeks ago, so this gave them a chance to celebrate with family and friends.
It was nice. The wedding cake was really cute. It was three tiers decorated with green vines and tiny pink and white roses - and at the top amid the roses were two cupids dressed in safari clothes. The dolls were actually the same ones from my mom and dad's wedding cake in 1934. We just dressed them differently.
The weather held out which meant we were able to extend out into the yard and lower patio. This made things more enjoyable. People could meander down to the creek or hang out in the house, yard, or one of the patios.
Rose, the cat I mentioned in an earlier jounal entry, is still living in our rose garden. She enjoyed the party too. We thought that she might take off with all the people about, but they didn't faze her. She visited some, layed around, and left to her place (in the rose garden) when she was ready.
Tried to get some of the people there to take home a very sweet cat, but no luck. I did put up a poster with her picture at the Vet's. She is very pretty, long haired, and sweet-natured. If we didn't already have 3 cats inside, I would take her in. And she's welcome to live in our yard, but I've always felt that an animal should be part of the house-hold and not left in a yard. However, since she has a large wooded fenced yard, a covered porch with wicker furniture and cushions, a rose garden, and prescription food and fresh cream whenever she wants it, she isn't living too shabby...
Click here to see Rose. Her picture is at the end of the May 19th entry:
I promised to write about mundane things today, no philosophy, no inner thoughts, just reality as it is today. Think I've accomplished this. I'm going to close with a close up picture of the cupids on the wedding cake:
Aren't they cute?
Have a good one!
