* still living, loving, and learning...

Just realizing that Fall is almost here in North Texas.  This summer flew by.  Guess with the baby (daughter's baby - in case you are not a regular reader)  due in a few weeks, this Fall and Winter will fly by too.   So much to look forward to. So much to try to forget...

Last year - no, I won't go there.  Too many ups and downs.  Not ready to spend much time thinking about it yet.  Glad to be still living, loving, and learning...

And still haven't heard about my CATSCAN results.  The doctor who was to read it and compare it with the last one was out of town for Labor Day Weekend and should be back this week.  I've an appointment with my Oncologist this Friday - just the routine 6 month checkup and bloodwork.  They're like Vampires.  They always want blood.

Dreamed about the baby again last night.

Time to revel in the simple things:  warm summer rain, cool Fall breezes, fresh home-made bread, strong black coffee, and lazy walks around the neighborhood.  No real demands this week...so I will take the time to enjoy the interlude.

Been really wanting to bake some fabulous cookies - with real semi-sweet chocolate chunks, white chocolate chunks, and pecans!  But since I wasn't exactly careful this past weekend about avoiding cake.... I'd better put that urge on hold for a while.

Maybe I'll play around with my camera some.  I have a Kodak 240 digital which works really well, but could have a better Zoom.  My son just got a Nikon Coolpix 995.  It seems like a great camera, and I think it has a 4X Zoom with the capability of adding more.   Believe it can also take short videos.  Interesting.

Oh, I should mention that hubby and I went to the Dallas Symphony this past Sunday afternoon.  It was really nice. Our seats were great and the featured talent was Olivia Newton John.  We both enjoyed it.  Don't do this sort of thing often, so it was a treat.

Didn't go through my photos yesterday as promised so I've nothing exciting in the photo field to post...  really need to add to my Photo Gallery - especially the Cats Section.  Maybe I'll do that today.

Have a good one - where ever you are!

Considering adding a Recipe Section to my site.  Being from New Orleans, I have some great Cajun recipes that have been passed down in our family... maybe it's time to share?
